Professor Receives Research Grant

It is essential in a successful graduate school program that the professors within the school are actively involved in research and furthering education.

Dr. Ezemenari M. Obasi, psychology professor, received a $471,683 grant from the National Institute of Drug Abuse.Obasi has extensively researched the link between a person’s genetic make-up and their vulnerability to drug use.  The grant will further Obasi’s research, narrowing in focus to examine the link between stress and the risk of drug addiction among rural African-Americans.

The University of Georgia is proud to have a professor active in bettering society and expanding UGA’s reputation as a research university.
